News Wrap-Up: Weddings, Crashes and Babies

So, I'm really behind on news. I've been keeping up with it to the best of my ability, but I haven't been able to post it all. For this reason, I figured I should go ahead and catch up the blog. This is going to be a beast of a post, but it should cover the few main stories I need to cover. I'll start with the newest and work my way back.

LEE CHUN-HEE AND JUN HYE-JIN WELCOME NEW BABY GIRL
7/30/11

I'm so incredibly excited about this because Smile, You is one of my favorite dramas. So, anyway, Lee Chun-hee and his Smile, You co-star Jun Hye-jin married in March and had their first baby, a baby girl, today.

Both mom and munchkin are reportedly healthy, and the baby weighed in at approximately 7 lbs.

What a beautiful family! :)

EUGENE MARRIES KI TAE-YOUNG
7/23/11

Actress and former pop star Eugene married her former co-star Ki Tae-young in a small ceremony in Seoul on July 23rd.

The two met on the set of Creating Destiny in 2009, and started dating near the end of production. They announced their plans to marry in May via their individual fansites.

Photos of the ceremony and the guests who attended the wedding can be found on the Allkpop website here.

The newlyweds left for their extended honeymoon in Europe on July 25th. Photos of them at the airport can be found here.

They were such a cute on-screen couple in Creating Destiny and they look just as gorgeous together in real life. I wish them the best of luck in their marriage!

EOM KI-JOON INVOLVED IN CAR ACCIDENT
7/21/11

Eom Ki-joon
, one of the stars of the new SBS weekend drama Scent of a Woman was involved in a minor car accident on July 21st. No injuries were reported in the crash when Eom rear-ended a taxi, but the actor may face drunk driving charges as his blood-alcohol level was over 0.1%.

It was announced on July 25th that he may have to step down from his role on Scent if the NISI (National Institute of Scientific Investigation) verify his blood-alcohol level. The blood test results take between 10 and 15 days, so the results should be announced within the next week or two.

If the results come out positive and Eom gets indicted for drunk driving, his character will be axed from the drama altogether.

Yikes. Here's to hoping we don't lose our cranky doctor Chae Eun-seok!

PARK SHIN-HYE HOSPITALIZED AFTER CAR ACCIDENT
7/18/11

Heartstrings actress Park Shin-hye was hospitalized after a car accident on July 18th when her manager, who was driving, crashed into a guardrail.

No one in the car was seriously injured, but all were transported to the hospital for treatment.

Park was released the following day and went straight back to work on the production of her currently-airing drama Heartstrings

On July 20th, she was readmitted to the hospital when she began to feel the aftereffects of the accident, causing a delay in production and postponement in the airing schedule of the drama. The production was forced to skip a day and aired a special recap episode of Heartstrings instead.

Park returned to work soon after and production of the show resumed thereafter. She's on her way to a full recovery.

Footage of the accident and the original article from Allkpop can be found here.
